Under No. 23, the name of the Sallabi comes in the terrorists list announced by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, among 59 characters and 12 foundations that fund terrorists.
Al-Sallabi started his political life by opposing Gaddafi, but quickly switched sided, ingratiated himself with Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam and strengthened his relationship with him, then prohibited opposing the ruler and supported Gaddafi with all his Ikhwani tricks.
He became a member of Gaddafi Foundation’s board and contributed to a dialogue between the group and the Libyan state ended to releasing the fighting group’s members from the Libyan prisons under the auspices of the “blood Mufti” Yusuf Qaradawi.
In 2011, Al-Sallabi jumped the ship of the regime and turned against his benefactor and called to go out with weapons against Gaddafi after he realised the leader is losing his power. He wanted to play a role in the next phase, which no longer needed the rule of the Libyan leader.
Then he started to join muslims’ queue that receive Qatari support, participating in all Ikhwans’ projects to reach power, including Libya.
Al-Sallabi believed his own lie and dealed like a revolutionary, but what was weird is speaking for the Libyan people. That made thousands of Libyans demonstrate in several Libyan cities against his statements and concern about his political role, as everyone knows that his and Ikhwan’s interests are what he wants and that he don’t care about the people in any way.
Criticism of the revolutionaries forced him to say that he represented only himself, but appeared again in the media to say that his role in overthrowing Gaddafi's rule was essential. That made him receive criticism from President Mustafa Abdul Jalil, who announced that the whole Libyan people contributed to change and no one has favor over others.
Al-Sallabi holds Qatari nationality and is a member of the so-called Union of Muslim Scholars, led by Yusuf al-Qaradawi, and his brother Ismail al-Sallabi is one of the most famous terrorists in Libya and on the terrorists list of Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
