Prominent media reports have alleged that Qatar is looking to buy the British club "Leeds United". Sources said that Germany 's Deutsche Bank is assisting Qatar in raising money to buy a top European football club.

While Germany's Bank declined to comment on the matter, there has been mounting media speculation that Qatar is looking to buy a stake in British club Leeds United.

New York Times said on June 3 that Qatar had met with officials from Leeds United, citing information from two unnamed sources. A similar story has also been reported by Financial Times on May 25, while The Telegraph reported in June that Andrea Radrizzani, Leeds United's owner, was in Doha for discussions about a potential stake in the Elland Road club, which in October celebrates its 100th anniversary.

It should be mentioned that Qatar bought France's Paris Saint-Germain for $130 million in 2012.

The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) did not immediately comment on these reports.
