The Global campaign against Qatar’s financing of terrorism organized with the Arab Organization for Human Rights a press conference in Vienna on Saturday.

The conference seeks to inform the public of the the two reports by the international delegations of the two groups, formed of lawyers, activists, doctors, and specialists, who, in August, visited a number of countries to monitor terror and violations resulting from Qatari financing of terrorism, Head of the Arab Organisation for Human Rights in UK and Europe Abdulrahman Nofal has said.

“Our global campaign aims to combat Qatar government’s funding of global terrorism and to stand against extremist practices of terrorist organisations financed by Qatar around the world,” the campaign was quoted as saying. “Qatar’s government provides material and logistical support to terrorist organisations as well as hosts their leaders in its territory. In addition, Qatar is adopting radical and hatred rhetoric of extremism that goes against the culture of pluralism and tolerance toward various ethnic and religious groups; violating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international treaties and conventions,” it said, Gulf News reported.

The campaign also aims to produce information, implement cultural education programmes, and organise international activities for the UN focusing on the social and cultural impact of terrorism and extremism financed by Qatar and means to combat them.

“One of the most important objectives of the campaign is to spread the culture of diversity, pluralism, tolerance and peace in the face of extremism that have spread in recent years primarily due to Qatari funding.” The campaign, in cooperation with one of the international legal advisory offices, will file claims for compensation against Qatar for financing global terrorism as it is the cause of a large number of casualties.
