The Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh announced that Iran’s gas throughput has exceeded its Qatari counterpart in the joint Southern Pars field, considering it a big achievement.
Bijan said, in an interview with the Iranian TV, that the state’s throughput of Pars field raised by 83 million cubic metres daily between 22 December 2017 and 20 January 2018, reaching 553 million cubic metres.
The South Pars/North Dome field is a natural-gas condensate field located in the Persian Gulf. It is by far the world's largest natural gas field, with ownership of the field shared between Iran and Qatar.
