Kenyan police interrupts human trafficking to Qatar

Kenyan police said Thursday they are interrogating two suspects behind a human trafficking racket that has been operating in a Nairobi residential estate, Coastweek reported.

The police said in a report that the two suspects who include a Kenyan and Rwandese were arrested in the operation that saw two Rwandese girls saved. They had been promised they would be flown to Qatar for a job.

The Kenyan suspect, identified as Peninah Wambui Njau, and the Rwandese man was identified as Albert Baofanye Bukuru, are expected to be charged with involvement in human trafficking and being in possession of multiple passports.

Intelligence sources reveal an increase in the number of Ugandan and Rwandese nationals being smuggled through Kenya to Middle Eastern countries.
