Qatar has financed groups that pose a serious threat to Mauritania, Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Isselkou Ould Ahmed Izid Bih has said. Severing ties with Doha  is to maintain Mauritania’s security, he added.

Mauritania has broken ties with Qatar after the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt cut diplomatic ties with Doha on June 5 and cut off air, sea and land access to the country over Qatar’s support for terrorist groups.
