Mediapart reveals the relationship between Qatar’s Attorney General and Al Qaeda

French website "Mediapart" revealed many scandals and shocking facts about the Attorney General of Qatar, Ali bin Fetais Al Marri, who is surrounded with many suspicions of racketeering after the discovery of his secret accounts in a Kuwaiti bank.

"Al Marri’s past continues to haunt him, especially the relations of some of his family members with Al Qaeda, which began to float again", the French website said, adding that Al-Marri is in an enviable position, especially after the French newspaper "Le Point" published an investigation back in February 2018 that revealed the real image of the Attorney General who owns a private hotel located in the heart of Paris, worth about 10 million euros, a real estate company worth 3 million euros, and a private villa in the richest neighborhoods of Geneva, Switzerland.

The French site questioned the silence of the French judicial authorities on opening the black file of Al Marri, especially as they are taking many legal procedures against some African rulers who are subjected to suspicions of corruption and illegal gains.

This encouraged a number of journalists to reopen Al Marri 's family files and their suspicious relationships, the Washington Post published a report in 2007 that revealed the relationship between Qatar’s Attorney General and a member of his family, named Ali Saleh Kahlah Al Marri , also called "Abdul Rahman Al Qatari".

He was arrested in the United States in 2001 during the major terrorist hunt after 9/11 events and admitted to being an important member of Al Qaeda and that he intended to carry out some terrorist attacks with chemical weapons.

FBI agents found on his computer files labeled "Den of Jihad" and information on Hydrogen Cyanide which is used in some explosives. Amid his arrest, authorities found more than 100 forged bank cards.

The site revealed that Ali bin Fetais al-Marri had made contacts to release his relative and that his father had helped one of his friends in America make these contacts for the release him.

The US press exposed Al Marri's contacts to release a member of his family involved in terrorist crimes, he was exchanged for two Americans who were imprisoned in Qatar
