Qatar Reduces Trade exchanges with Iran under US Pressure

Adnan Mousavi Bor, the Chairman of the Iran-Qatar Chamber of Commerce, said that the Qatari government has reduced its volume of trade exchanges with Iran, at the request of the US Treasury Department.

"Qatar has reduced trade with Iran, limiting this to medical and food items only at the request of the US Treasury," Mousavi added in an interview with the Iranian Labour News Agency. 

"The Qataris told us that they could only send food and medicine to Iran from now on." 

He stated that the Qatari authorities also informed Iran that “until recently they had difficulty in providing their agricultural and food items." 

The Iranian official said that the US has imposed new restrictions on trade between Iran and Qatar.
