Qatar’s Libya strife, spoiling French Italian ties

Tamim wants more chaos in Libya, worked on exacerbating conflicts between Paris and Rome using the European competition to cement presence of militias. 

Libya’s instability has made it a playground for competing European powers. France offered an initiative to hold general elections in December but Italy opposed it and called for a Libyan reconciliation first. 

Qatar found it a chance to save Ikhwan militias and ISIS, sided with Roma and stipulated acknowledging its militias. Doha wants revenge on France for implementing a reconciliation between Libyan rivals.

Ahmed Al-Mesmari, Libyan army spokesman, affirmed solving the crisis doesn’t require Qatar, Turkey, or Italy and that Doha stands by Rome to delay elections and stability.
