Tamim’s attempts to hide repercussions of the boycott deepens his crises, he has resorted to overtaxing citizens to complete stumbling world cup projects. But his decisions that lack vision may drive fans away from the cup. 

Doha imposed up to %100 selective taxes on some commodities and doubled prices 3 years before the world cup to become the most expensive Gulf state to live in and the 13th internationally. 

Fifa sponsors are not happy with the sudden rise because high prices will force fans to alter their plans, which makes Qatar’s situation even worse.
