In a memorandum to the United Nations Security Council, the UAE Permanent Mission to the UN condemned in the strongest terms Qatar's allegations of infiltration of its airspace by UAE military aircraft, said Yacoub Yousef Al Hosani, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Denouncing the current escalation by Qatar, the memorandum called upon the Gulf state to abide by international law.

According to the UAE, Qatari military planes flew close enough to the Emirati airliners to be seen by the crew and passengers, which constituted a threat to their safety.

Bahrain released radar tracks on Tuesday it said showed Qatari fighter jets passing by Emirati commercial airliners bound for the nation.

Meanwhile, an official source at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Monday's interception by Qatari fighter planes of two Manama-bound UAE civilian planes, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
