Seeking to politicize Hajj again, Tamim’s regime has established a watch group in Malaysia under the name  Al-Haramain Watch to drive the rhetoric of the need to internationalize the two shrines.

Doha promotes it through Qatari media platforms.

The watch group claims KSA influences the sacred rites and alleges “Riyadh as the sole authority over Hajj” threatens the well-being of pilgrims. 

It announced secretly sending observers to check on Saudi efforts.

Al-Haramain Watch’s website, supposedly based in Kuala Lumpur, mentions no Malaysian administrators and reiterates the Qatari talking point that Saudi Arabia is politicizing Hajj. Almost all of its reports are based on Qatari websites and newspapers.
