Qatar’s pursuit of dominating, controlling and intervening in others’ affairs didn’t stop at the Arab World, but also included Europe itself in order to control decision making centers in European capitals. The French investigative journalist Vanessa Ratinier revealed that Doha relied on Qatari people’s money to corrupt French politicians to create a broad influence among the French decision-making circles and investing it in covering the activities of the Al-Hamad terrorist system.
In a symposium entitled “Qatar’s suspicious investments in France” on 26 June, Ratinier said that Qatar offered bribes to many French politicians, not just the former president Sarkozy who dealt with Qatar.
She said that during the financial crisis of 2008, the European financial system was collapsed and there was a lack of liquidity in the European and French markets, so Qatar took advantage of that, beside the disadvantages of the French tax system, in order to make deals to get concessions undercover the bilateral cooperation. Qatar also used the crisis of the French financial system to make wide relations empowered it to win reverse auctions and large investment concessions.
The French journalist approved that Qatar suspiciously pumped billions in many investment operations under different titles and names. The purpose was not commercial investments, but purchasing political power by twisting ways. She also said that the ruling family in Qatar deals with the earnings from oil and gas as its own money, not the Qatari people’s.
The information revealed by the French journalist after her investigations came in line with raising calls in the French political street for investigating the Qatari corruption, as many politicians and parliamentarians called for forming a parliamentary inquiry committee to invest the suspicious Qatari investments in France.
The Qatari corruption seems to be so powerful that these suits didn’t find anyone to activate them till now, especially that there are a lot of doubts about the suspicious relation between the former Emir of Qatar Hamad bin khalifa and the former French president Sarkozy and the latter is accused of being totally involved in the Qatari corruption.
