Iran announced the installation of a naval platform in the giant joint field with Qatar, located in the Gulf, to become the second platform launched by Tehran to extract gas from the field in less than 4 months.
According to the Iranian news agency, FARS, the contractor for the development of stage 14 of the South Pars gas field announced the successful installation of the naval platform, explaining that the platform was transferred after being completely manufactured, weighing 2,200 tons with a production capacity of 14 million cubic meters of gas per day.
He said that with the launch of the offshore platform soon, the stage 14 production capacity of the Pars field will increase to 1 billion cubic feet per day, stressing that all stages of manufacturing, shipping, transportation and installation, as well as pipe laying, drilling and refinery construction on the coast, were carried out by Iranian experts.
This is the second marine platform installed in stage 14, the first was installed about four months ago, with a production rate of 500 million cubic feet per day.
