The Hezbollah-ISIS deal in Grud Arsal entailed the withdrawal of more than 600 ISIS gunmen from the Lebanese-Syrian border in return for revealing the fate of Lebanese soldiers and exchanging injured ISIS gunmen for the dead bodies of one Irani and two Syrians.
One aspect of this deal, however, was left in the dark, Lebanese MP Rima Krenbi told Al Arabiya. The deal was carried out under the supervision of Turkey and Qatar.
Qatar, Iran, and Turkey were also crucial to completing the deal between Hezbollah and Nusra Front that took place 20 days ago. Head of Nusra Front Abu-Malek El-Talli was given $35 million, Krenbi added.
El-Talli wanted to be transported, with his family, directly to Turkey, but the Lebanese government refused, so he left for Adleb. He wanted to smuggle the money abroad before Al-Gulani seizes it from him in Syria, trusted Lebanese sources reported.
