Several media outlets in South Africa uncovered a state of anger in the country caused by Qatar and its Emir Tamim bin Hamad, after having met with its former president Jacob Zuma, South African media reported that the Ministry of International Relations was dissatisfied with the meeting.

According to South African newspaper Mill and Guardian, relations between Cape Town and Doha are at one of the most tense and contrasting moments after Tamim bin Hamad met former President Jacob Zuma last month despite the will of the African country.

The report quoted a senior official saying that intelligence services in South Africa are "not comfortable at all" with a potential role played by Qatar in association with Zuma, questioning the real reasons behind the visit.

It is noteworthy that the same newspaper has previously reported that Zuma secretly met with the Qatari Emir, with one goal in mind, emphasized by the local media, which is to receive funds to overthrow the current president.

The Mill and Guardian reported that the presidency and the South African embassy were not aware of the visit and that President Cyril Ramaphosa and the minister of international relations did not discover the visit until the Ambassador of Pretoria in Doha expressed concern about the matter.
