Tunisian Parti Destourien Libre PDL has filed a complaint with the secretary of the general prosecution of the primary court against Ennahdha Party. PDL is accusing Ennahda of being financed by Qatar.

PDL requested that the testimony of former foreign minister Ahmed Wanees be heard and legal measures be taken so that non-Tunisians can testify.

PDL has solid evidence Ennahda Party received money from Qatar in addition to the 2015 report by the auditing division on the presidential candidate who got 4.6 million Tunisian dinars deposited in his personal bank account, President of PDL Abeer Mousa said.

The party, in a statement, called for investigating those behind the funding of networks that transport young people to danger zones whether they are parties or individuals. PDL also called for investigating foreign funding of political parties through committees, clandestinely using their influence, or through bank transfers via the central bank. The incredible wealth and capabilities of some Tunisian political parties must be probed, the statement said.

Ennahda Party of the Muslim Brotherhood has close ties to Qatar and acts as its main agent in Tunisia.
